What you will be doing:
- Work with pre-deisgned web templates, as well as, design, create, and implement Web 2.0 technologies, such as widgets and gadgets, Facebook and MySpace applications, browser plug-ins, mobile phone applications, Flash, e-commerce and multi-media Web pages.
- Web front-end design and development in the ASP.NET 2.0 (or greater) environment, using tools such as AJAX and jQuery.
- Develop low- to moderate-complexity databases in SQL Server 2005 (or greater), and the code for Web 2.0 front end applications to communicate with the databases.
What you need for the job:
- Facility with Web authoring tools, such as: Adobe Creative Suite 4, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Flash, Fireworks and/or Dreamweaver
- Front end scripting experience with XHTML, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, DOM, ExtJS, Blueprint and/or JSON
- Facility with Visual Studio and SQL Server Management Studio
- Experience with tools such as FireBug and YSlow
- Expertise with design and development using advanced CSS techniques
- Comprehension of potential reach and impact of Web 2.0 technologies including social networks, podcasting, online video, micro-blogging, widget distribution, and specialized search technology
- Familiarity with open source development environments and processes
- Understanding of disability access standards, specifically Section 508 as it applies to Federal Web sites
- Understanding of the principles of the usability of user interfaces, and how to design and develop UI for usability and user experience
